Yingshi Chen is passionate about educational statistics, learning analytics and human resource management. She recently graduated from Cornell University with a Master's degree in Applied Statistics. With a solid foundation in Statistics (BA), along with a minor in Human Resource Management and Mathematics, she leverages her analytical skills to drive progress in both educational technology and talent management. Yingshi’s recent academic projects cover various areas, such as healthcare, social media analytics, machine learning, and hr management.
As a Data Analyst at Looper Developments, Inc., Yingshi works on advancing educational platforms through data-driven insights. Her responsibilities include developing AI-powered note-taking features and interactive dashboards that help students visualize their learning progress for professional growth. She has also conducted comprehensive surveys with 100 students and career advisors, generating insights that shape the future of educational technology.
Yingshi has also made notable contributions to recruitment and talent acquisition in HR management. She developed an employment software platform, recognized by the National Copyright Administration of China, which streamlines recruitment processes for corporate users. During her time at Rutgers University, she explored the nuances of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other characteristics (KSAOs) between the real-workplace and O*Net, contributing valuable insights to job analysis and selection practices, under the guidance of Prof. Joe McCune.
Her expertise in data analysis strengthens her work in these fields. At Cornell, Yingshi applied advanced statistical methods to analyze complex datasets. She has published research on social network analysis, showcasing her ability to manage large-scale data analysis projects. In addition, Yingshi, as one of the activity contributors for Cross-disciplinary Teachers Training in Foshan, China, helps the participating high school teachers to understand the current challenges and situation of teaching in the new era.
Outside of work, Yingshi shares glimpses of her life on Douyin (TikTok China), where her content has reached over 87,000 views. She is also an avid cook, capable of making more than 100 different dishes.
